Pinyon Montessori is re-imagining education in Salt Lake City with a model built on intentionality, expertise, and community connection. We are proud to be a micro-school within the national Wildflower Network, offering a unique, human-scaled learning environment that focuses deeply on the whole child.

Small Scale, Big Impact: The Micro-School Advantage
As a micro-school, we are intentionally small. This small scale is a strategic advantage: it allows us to eliminate institutional bureaucracy and focus entirely on building deep, authentic relationships between families, teachers, and children. We are designed to be more than a school—we are a neighborhood hub.
A Teacher-Led Vision
At the heart of Pinyon is the Teacher-Led Model. Our co-founders, Brandi Allen and Margaret Mc Donald, are veteran educators with over 50 years of combined expertise. They are the vision-setters, the curriculum designers, and the administrative decision-makers. This model, rooted in Teal shared management principles, ensures every choice is holistic, flexible, and promptly responsive to the needs of our families and students.

Community-Rooted and Accessible
Pinyon is deeply community-rooted. We are purposefully integrated within an innovative affordable housing development, making the city park and local resources part of our daily curriculum and establishing us as a unique neighborhood hub in Downtown Salt Lake City. We ensure accessibility through a unique tiered tuition model, where families self-select a rate based on their income and capacity.
