Celebrating Six Weeks and the Magic of Normalization!

Can you believe it's already been six weeks since we welcomed your wonderful children back to school? It feels like just yesterday we were starting a new year, and now, here we are, often seeing the beautiful process of normalization truly begin to blossom!

In Montessori, "normalization" is a concept near and dear to our hearts. It doesn't mean a child was ever "abnormal," but rather, it's about a child returning to their true, best self. It's that magical moment when you see a child truly engaged, focused, and purposeful in their work. They develop incredible concentration, self-discipline, and a genuine love for learning. You'll notice them brimming with a sense of peace, calm, and sociability, showing respect for others and their environment. It’s a joy to witness this natural developmental process unfold as children find their inner balance and order within our prepared environment.

While our elementary students are often hitting their normalization stride around this six-week mark, we know it's a unique journey for every child. For some of our early childhood students, especially those on a reduced schedule, normalization might still be a little further down the road. But every now and then, it materializes, and let me tell you, it is absolutely glorious to witness!
