Over the summer, Brandi, Chip, and Margaret had the privilege of serving on advisory panels for several new Wildflower schools set to open across the country. Wildflower's School Startup Journey is a program specifically designed to support prospective teacher leaders in establishing their co-led Montessori schools.

Phases and Decision Points

The School Startup Journey is structured into a series of organized phases, each with clearly defined decision points. During these phases, teachers and Wildflower members engage in discussions centered around the school's vision, comprehensive plan, and the fundamental principles that guide the Wildflower network.

Advice Sessions

At the heart of the School Startup Journey are the advice sessions. These sessions provide an opportunity for teacher teams to present their plans for feedback. The advice received during these sessions is invaluable, as it enables the teams to make informed decisions regarding whether to proceed with opening their schools under the Wildflower umbrella or making different choices.

Emerging Teacher Leaders

The current cohort of teacher teams participating in the School Startup Journey represents approximately 20 potential new Wildflower schools. These visionary and equity-focused individuals are poised to make significant contributions to the Montessori education landscape in their respective communities.
